Ametherm to Showcase Latest NTC Thermistors for High-Accuracy Temperature Measurement at Sensors 2014

CARSON CITY, Nev. — June 9, 2014 — Ametherm today announced that the company will be showcasing a wide variety of its latest NTC thermistors for high-accuracy temperature measurement, compensation, and control at the 2014 Sensors Expo & Conference, taking place June 24-26 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Highlighted products will include disc, chip, and surface-mount devices, in addition to NTC thermistor probe assemblies, for a wide range of applications.

In booth 323, Ametherm will be displaying products from its new KR series of NTC surface-mount thermistors. Offered in standard EIA 0805, 1005, and 1206 case sizes, KR series devices feature dissipation constants of 2 mW/°C, maximum power ratings to 250 mW at 25 °C, and high-temperature operation to +150 °C. With resistance at 25 °C from 100 Ω to 150 kΩ and tight tolerances of ±5 % and ±10 %, the devices provide high stability and reliability for applications such as LCD controls and power transistor stabilization.

For maximum sensitivity in fan motor controls, fluid levels, and temperature sensors, Ametherm will exhibit NTC disc and chip thermistors with precision tolerances to 1 %, high-temperature operation to +150 °C, and thermal time constants down to 2 s. Available with diameters from 2.54 mm to 12.7 mm, Ametherm’s NTC disc thermistors feature resistance at 25 °C from 4 Ω to 150 kΩ. Measuring 1.27 mm by 1.27 mm with profiles from 0.5 mm to 3.8 mm, the company’s NTC chip thermistors offer resistance at 25 °C from 100 Ω to 500 kΩ.

Ideal for temperature monitoring in hybrid circuits for ICs in robotic assemblies and military telecom systems, Ametherm’s STC0134-X, STC0138-X, STC0143-X, and STC0144-X series of NTC chip thermistors will also be on display. Available in sizes as small as 0.50 mm by 0.50 mm by 0.43 mm, the devices feature resistance at 25 °C from 100 Ω to 5 kΩ and tolerances down to ± 5 %. The thermistors’ electrode surface is available in gold to prevent oxidation.

In addition, Ametherm will be highlighting a variety of NTC thermistor probe assembly types for high-accuracy temperature sensing in transformers, electric motors, air sensors, and HVAC systems. The devices feature resistance at 25 °C from 0.5 Ω to 250 Ω, beta from 3,500 K to 4,500 K, a dissipation constant of 3 mW/°C, a thermal time constant down to 10 s, and max power of 125 mW.

Since 1986, Sensors Expo & Conference has been the leading industry event in North America, focusing exclusively on sensors and sensor-related systems. More information on the exposition and conference is available at http://www.sensorsmag.com/sensors-expo.
