Chips From Nevada-Based Ametherm Rank in Top Tier of Electronic Design’s Top 101 Components List

CARSON CITY, Nev. — July 2, 2014 — Ametherm today announced that its NTC chip thermistors have won a place in the top tier of this year’s Top 101 Components, an annual list published by leading trade magazine Electronic Design and consisting of the prior 12 months’ most popular new electronic components, as judged by the magazine’s readers.

Manufactured in Nevada at the company’s Carson City plant, Ametherm’s NTC chip thermistors are used for high-accuracy temperature measurement in a wide range of products. With precision tolerances to 1 % and fast thermal response times, they provide designers with an alternative to thermocouples in temperature measurement, compensation, and control circuits in applications such as fan motor controls, fluid levels, and temperature sensors.

“It is gratifying to receive this recognition from the design engineers who read Electronic Design and to know we’re delivering value to them with our products made right here in Nevada,” said Eric Rauch, president and CEO of Ametherm. “We may be a small company, but we’re happy to be ranked among industry giants when it comes to delivering products that our customers need and value.”

In 2014, Ametherm is celebrating its 20th year as an electronic component manufacturer based in Nevada.

Electronic Design’s yearly Top 101 Components ranks the popularity of electronic products that are anything other than a memory or a device that executes a program from memory. The list includes sensors, enclosures, controllers, connectors, switches, accelerometers, discrete semiconductors, passive components, and many types of integrated circuits.
